Disability may manifest in the form of physical, psychological or emotional impairment. For instance, disabled people may not think normally, have difficulty in walking or may not have limbs, and may exhibit developmental limitations, just to name a few. With this regard, there are several types of disabilities: low vision or blindness; deafness; mental illnesses; hyperactive disorders, speech and language problems. Most people view disabled people as a group that only serve to burden the already burdened society and that their contribution to the gross domestic product is minimal. In fact, some communities in Africa go to the extent of killing children born with disabilities on the pretext of wanting a perfect generation. However, these are assumptions that should not be allowed to infiltrate the mind and; instead, disabled people should be treated with fairness like other people.
